This sounds more like ‘proof of life’ than anything I’ve read so far.

Only against open action from a government(as opposed as an independently acting private citizen), and that’s only as long as the US isn’t willing to cause an accident.

That, and I’m not terribly trusting of RT/HRW when they’re the only ones allowed to record the thing.

Yep. In Venezuela he’s a sitting duck for a drone strike or a covert op hit or kidnapping.

During Snowden's first Hong Kong video interview he acted confident, was verbose, and had a post nasal drip going on, consistent with a cocaine buzz. He lived with a pole dancer, probably making more than he did giving lap dances. Drug use is common among club dancers. Someone willing to throw their citizenship away forever for 15 minutes of fame is probably not thinking straight. Snowden may favor drug producing countries because of the low cost of drugs there.

Russia has a booming economy, 13% flat tax, no capital gains tax, and most people are not even required to file tax forms. They have an oversupply of beautiful unmarried Caucasian women and few minorities. Their population density has fallen to the point they favor freedom and traditional values and reject communism. The language is hard to learn but Russia has far more going for it than a third world banana republic.
