As I suggested earlier, their support of socialism and gun-control is counterproductive. The thugs and drug dealers know that they have a virtual monopoly on deadly force. That monopoly on deadly force is itself protected by the very politicians that these 'good, church-going people' keep putting in office. I'd add that the urban black church at the official level is enormously supportive of gun-control, and sponsors so-called 'gun buyback' events.
