What is the “containment thread”

A thread created to keep the discussion on a particular topic all in one thread. On other boards such as 2+2 posts of the same topic are moved by the moderator to a containment thread rather than simply disappearing.

Thanks for the explanation. Still think this will spill over to multiple threads. Also, I posted at the EXACT MOMENT the verdict was read, so it was news, not conjecture.
