Why is McCain authorized to do anything in the Senate beyond casting one vote. He should be hiding under a rock after his devastating presidential run. In fact, since Romney is elsewhere, McCain is the unchallenged biggest loser the REPUBs have in DC. That is his only “authority”.
My prediction........Repubs just lost the mid-term senate elections and WILL NOT be taking over the senate this time. Damn dummies!
Time for the Freedom Party with Levin and Palin leading the charge. These clowns in the R party are beyond belief.
Step one:
Don’t use “Freedom Party” as the name.
What are they saving the filibuster for if every time they threaten to use it, the dems threaten to go nuclear and force them to cave?
In a couple generations, when people are finally fed up with living in a socialist hell hole, and Republicans regain the white house, the Democrats will be able to filibuster appointments while the media destroys them. Its really a fair deal, Obama gets to appoint the most extreme ideologues to cabinet positions, and some day we will get to appoint people the Democrats approve of. (sarc)

The Dems never threatened to end filibuster of judicial appointments- only executive ones.
This was a total loss for our side.
We caved on all 7 appointments- not just 5.
And the Dems never took any heat for their extremist blackmail.
