The CDC has quickly removed a page from their website, which is now cached here, admitting that more than 98 million Americans received one or more doses of polio vaccine within an 8-year span when a proportion of the vaccine was contaminated with a cancer causing polyomavirus called SV40. It has been estimated that 10-30 million Americans could have received an SV40 contaminated dose of the vaccine.

I remember the long walk in single file, and remembering what was on everyone’s mind....shot or sugar.

....and it was a long line. They sent the entire grade from the school to the health unit and back. I remember being early in the line one time and faking it like I got a shot. Loved seeing my classmates face on the way back.

1955 to 1963? My mother died of cancer in 1969. She got the polio inoculation too late, and she contracted polio anyway. She was 56.

She had breast, uterine, and colon cancers, one after the other. Now I know what happened to her.

Polio was already naturally dying off, as a matter of fact after vaccinations started, it jumped back up, same as small pox.
