In recent months, some fast food workers have been staging walkouts, complaining of low pay and a lack of benefits. But a new trend suggests that they may face competition that doesn't care what hours they work, or what they're paid. Fast food chains in Japan, China and Great Britain have begun piloting the use of robots to cook meals. And while robots have been emerging in recent years as a boon for completing menial tasks like dispensing medicines in hospitals, these fast food robots are capable of preparing full sushi rolls or noodle dishes for Asian food outlets. In many cases, customers complete their orders through a touchscreen, which then alerts the robot how to prepare the meal. No humans needed.
It stands to reason that American fast food companies will adopt the robots at some point. One new fast food robot is the noodle-slicing "Chef Cui" in China, which as The Associated Press reports, costs restaurateurs 30,000 Chinese yuan to buy, or about $2,000. Comparatively, a human noodle chef is paid about $4,700 a year in China, according to the AP.
For Liu Maohu, a noodle restaurant owner in Beijing, the choice of hiring a robot over a human is easy. "The robot chef can slice noodles better than human chefs," he told the AP. "And it is much cheaper than a real human chef."

Robots would be an improvement over the Zombies working fast food now.
They screw up your order, you can shoot a robot.
Do the robots spit in your food as well?
Robots can’t spit.
At least they would speak English better than the majority of fast food employees now. And I am talking about all of them not just the “Hispanics”. I ran fast food for over twenty years and I would have fired the vast majority of workers I run into now. They can’t speak, can’t remember a damn thing and haven’t a clue to courtesy.
go home Mexicans , you are ruining our country.
That is fast food today. I actually handed a $10.00 bill to the drive through clerk for an $8.00 order and got $35.00 in change. How the heck did they come up with that? I pull away, park, go inside and ask for the manager. Show the receipt and the change. Then give up and say, “you’re right I must have given her a $42.00 bill”, put the money in my pocket and left.
See, Back in the olden days when I started, and in all fairness there were less items, we had to know all the prices and total them up. We then had to enter the total on an old NCR register add in the tax and ring up the sale. Back in the day you HAD to have a brain.
They might leak a little motor oil...but not in anger.;-)
So many people can’t make change today. If the cost is $17. 35. You hand them a $20.00 two $1.00’s a quarter and a dime. They have to call the management and you have to explain your change is a $5 bill. I pumped gas way back, roll of cash and change in your pocket. Gas was 20 cents a gallon. Everyone had $20.00 bills. You gave change at the pump and only went to the register to dump the $20’s and get he change right. I’m out for the night. Have a great one.
i used to flip burgers back in the day and during the rushes the sweat would be dripping off my nose off my chin onto the grill and burgers ssst ssst ssst but i think the most fun was catching the flies and throwing them in the fry vat
I also worked gas stations. But no change in my pocket. The boss made me carry a 32 revolver in my pocket. Shady customers at night. I'd put the 10 bill in front of the till, and count the change out backwards for the customer. Too many crooks otherwise would claim to have given a 20 instead of a 10. In the old days you had to think to avoid con men. These kids today are not sharp at all.
