Florida Mom Gets 20 Years For Firing Warning Shot

Yeah, about that... it seems like other accounts paint a very different picture in that despite having a restraining order against him, she went to his place and started a confrontation, left the scene, got the firearm, returned, and then discharged it in what she claimed was a "warning shot" but what the prosecution called "attempted murder". Clearly the jury didn't agree with her.

This case bothers me a lot, if what I have read is true. She was living at her Mother's house, and the husband came over there in a rage. He admitted to police, "I got 5 baby mommas and I put my hands on all of them but one". He had previously told her that he would kill her if she cheated, knocked her into the wall and the bathtub, and had a restraining order against him. He is a violent man.

So when this thug forced his way into what was at the time her house, against her will, and came at her, she fired a warning shot into the ceiling. How that gets her 20 years is beyond me. But she was prosecuted by the same unethical goons who prosecuted Zimmerman.
