Anyone who imagines Liberals will learn from this is wrong. One would have thought they learned from the collapse of communism. But no. Compared to that, Detroit is just a bump in the road.

Liberalism is based on feelings and fantasy, which gets in the way of learning from your mistakes. In the end, they will just blame it on evil reactionary forces and racism.

I agree completely with you that liberals will not learn from this. As a matter of fact they expect everyone else to make the same mistakes

Spot on. The interesting thing to me about this whole Detroit story is what put it on the front page. As we look at the hundreds of photos of squalor and decay, we must realize that it is not these that made this story newsworthy. The rot in these photos has been going on for years now. No, the current concern has nothing at all to do with the plight of the citizens of Detroit. Not at all. The focus of this story has to do with the plight of Detroit government.

Democrats have stood by idly as the hope and prosperity of the citizens of Detroit has been slowly but steadily destroyed from within. Election after election, the same mold of bureaucrats survived while the city itself died. But now and only now do the alarm bells sound, and only because the bureaucrats have run out of other people's money.

If Detroit still had creditors left that were willing to extend it more loans, this story wouldn't be on the front page. And the decay of the citizens would continue unabated with zero empathy from the ruling Democrat class.
