I agree with your thinking. In fact if it were me, I never would have considered a news conference in the first place.
I’ve long had a policy that I don’t talk to any media whatsoever for any reason at anytime, and likewise for my immediate family. Because the media only pays attention to you for one of two reasons: either to destroy you, or to use you to destroy someone else.
Any law enforcement issues I talk directly to the police, lawyers, or appropriate government agency.

I’m with you. My book brought all kinds of horrible threats, web site hacked, and worse. Until you’ve walked a mile in those moccasins you just don’t know how bad it can be from the left. Life in Sanford has to be hell right now.
