I’m happy for their success, but putting a huge pile of tax money in Connecticut coffers is pretty damned offensive. The corporation needs to recognize that.
I love my Kimber, but I hate the fact that it is made in NY, but cannot do anything about that.
I love my Henry rifle, but hate the fact it is made in NJ.
I love my RCBS Lockout Die, but hate the fact it is made in CA.
You could go on and on with this.....but what is the point?
Support 2A companies wherever they exist!
They have a factory in Prescott, Arizona.
I don’t care for Rugers, but am glad to see the company is turning a worthy profit.
I agree. Invest in companies that help support American freedom. But I must say that I love my Ruger 10/22 rifle and SigSauer pistols... made right here in New Hampshire.
I was more than happy to help them out. Some folks in Arizona are happy too..
Ruger has always made quality guns at a good price. They generally could not equal the finish of Colt, S&W or Browning tho some of the early super blackhawks were beautiful.
That’s terrible! Oh, what could I do to help them out, what could I do? I guess I have no choice but to buy another gun. I’m not doing it for me, y’know!
Their earnings would have been better if they weren’t located in CT. Staying there only provides for more tax dollars so that the communists running the state can do more against the @A and citizens who adhere to 2A.
And to the NSA trolls, FU.
I know much of their production takes place in AZ, but their state of incorporation continues to benefit.
My point is that the anti-RKBA states do not deserve our money and ultimately, we should seek to deprive them of it. I know these moves won't happen quickly or without great deliberation on behalf of long-entrenched companies, but we should encourage it. It's not these companies' fault that they've ended up behind enemy lines. We should find a way to help them escape.
Their 10K statement attributed the sales boom to the "current political climate."
The market is calming down, guns are becoming more available, and the bubble will burst. That means that sales for Ruger and Smith are going to plummet. So will their stock prices. IMO.
Had.
Ruger Says Prescott, Arizona Facility Damage Won't Damage Financial PositionSOUTHPORT, CT-- A severe thunderstorm and heavy precipitation on July 25, 2013 caused a portion of the roof of Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE-RGR) Prescott, Arizona manufacturing facility to collapse. No one was injured. The Company is in the process of undertaking repairs and expects to be back in production soon.
This temporary disruption may have a material impact on the Company's results of operations for the third quarter of 2013, but is not expected to have a material impact on the financial position of the Company.
I believe sales with maintain at a higher plateau. Sales may drop, but I do not believe they will plummet. Many new gun owners means many people buying their 2nd and 3rd guns.
It’s a good thing that all of those govt pensions got rid of this gun stock. Just think of all of those profits.
Effing idiots.
Temporary repairs have already been made to Ruger’s facility in Prescott; production has resumed there.
In a regulatory filing, the company said that 525,600 guns were ordered in the quarter, up from 291,000 in the same period last year. The average sales price was $306, up from $280 a year ago.

Locally we're already seeing these guns on the used market. People advertising that they need to sell to pay bills, etc.
Plus, all of our local gun shops, including Walmart, have a surplus of guns for sale.
