The U.S. Supreme Court refused Friday to let California delay the release of thousands of inmates from state prisons to relieve crowding. In June, a lower court ordered California to release about 10,000 inmates — nearly 8 percent of all state prisoners — by the end of the year to improve to improve medical and mental health treatment. Gov. Jerry Brown last month asked the Supreme Court to delay the order, arguing that it would jeopardize public safety.

Justice Antonin Scalia, joined by Justice Samuel Alito, strongly dissented with the high court's 6-3 one-sentence order Friday, predicting a wave of murders and rapes in the streets of California. Justice Clarence Thomas also disagreed but didn't join Scalia's dissent.

They’ll be on parole. They’ll be required to stay in a small geographic area and check in with their parole officer.

We need to ask justice Kennedy who hails from Sacramento and the wretched cheif justice who totally violated conservatism why they think gun sales have gone through the roof in CA!!!

It's abundantly obvious we only have three (3) rational conservatives left on the wretched supremes!!!

Then they could win office and run the city as well as the criminals that run it now.

Set up caged-in tent towns for hard labor prisons. Serve them oatmeal with all those surplus raisins for breakfast and spam sandwiches for dinner. The 10 hours between breakfast and dinner is chain gang work.

Not sure of what I mean? Watch Cool Hand Luke.

There has already been at least one of of this insanity dump and Benderville’s crime rate has nearly doubled. There was a armed robbery in one of our wooded parks Wednesday and that is just a 1/2 from my castle. The welfare depot is one of the largest employers in Bender County and Cooking Meth employes hundreds

So, as a California person, I find this particularly sucky.

And riddle me this Batman, when these fine upstanding newly minted free citizens are released and the majority of them commit MORE crime, will we recycle them back into the prisons and release other scum?

Common sense has left the building...the inmates are indeed running the asylum.

Best to have some stand your ground ability. I would suspect that the cretins that Californicate is forced to release will search for prime hunting grounds where the prey have no defense .... say, like CA, Chicago, WA, OR, CO, CT, NYC, MA, etc. Go for the easy safe pickings.

Hey, I live near the Salton Sea. We already had to fight off a Riverside County attempt to build a large county jail at the entry freeway to Palm Springs and the other desert resort cities.

Just the same, I have advocated building state prisons and county jails much farther out in the desert in areas where there was not a single person within 10 miles. Surround it with three sets of razor wire fences, and lots of other detection equipment. Put them in buildings with no AC and have them spend their days moving sand from one place to another and then back again. No TVs, no exercise equipment. I guarantee you that 99% will never return once they are released.

The DOC in Cal took over the Youth Authority Facility in Chino. It had 1200 individual cells which at times had 2000 CYA inmates ages 18-25.

What did corrections do? It closed the facility. Instead of reopening it and keeping 2,000 more locked up, they keep it closed.

And lets be REALLY honest - our military men (and women) endure much more “inhumane” conditions... who is filing a lawsuit to protect their “civil rights”???

You are correct sir. Criminals are treated better than many military personnel, and would riot if they were talked to the way some GIs are talked to. They get better health care too.

In California, it’s estimated that prisoners who are illegal immigrants cost the state at least $1 billion per year just to keep them in prison.

And the CA government just passed a law that basically disarms Californians from owning effective firearms.

This will end well. /sarc
