We built our present (and final) home 8 years ago. It is earth-sheltered ICF (insulated concrete forms) construction with geothermal heating and cooling. (with fireplace and wood cookstove backup). The walls are 13" thick + drywall and siding where needed. Nowhere near $35,000 unfortunately.

Years ago I looked into ICF homes and always wanted to build one. Are you glad you took that route? What are the pros and cons?
