Just say no. Anything else will be construed as an affirmative. If everyone simply denies possession it will ruin their little run on the second amendment.

Just say you’re a street gang member and all will be well.

3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone?
My answer would be a resounding NO. But does that mean I couldn’t smile if someone who’s bad came to harm?

So if I have more than one gun can I honestly answer, “I do NOT have a gun in my house?”

(Are we no longer in that awkward time? Or is it still too early?)
When we had my MIL here at home for hospice care, the intake nurse asked if we had a gun in the house. At the time, I thought they were worried about hospice patients committing suicide, now I suspect it was as about compiling records of gun owners as anything to do with patients.

I sold all my guns to Obama. He said he needed them for a Fast and Furious cause. I don’t know what he meant by that.

Yep. Lying to them is the best policy, IMO.

I have fairly severe tinnitus in my right ear from practicing at the range so much. The ringing makes it difficult to understand high pitched female voices... like when my wife asks me to take the dog for a walk. Anyway, the last time I went to the doctor a nurse asked me a similar line of questions... I thought she asked if I had gum in the house. I said, "Hell no!" Now it all makes a lot more sense. Thank you and be sure and wear your hearing protection out at the range!

from a Vietnam Vet and retired Police Officer: I had a doctor's appointment at the local VA clinic yesterday and found out something very interesting that I would like to pass along. While going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the end of the exam, three questions: 1. Did I feel stressed? 2. Did I feel threatened? 3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone? The nurse then informed me that if I had answered yes to any of the questions I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to Homeland Security.
This is a hoax that has been floating around the internet for several years now.
I do recommend not answering any questions about guns in your home, or about money, jewelry, or other valuables.

How did the nurse know you had a Carry Permit?

I hope you have it properly registered. The cops are pretty strict about that.
