I don’t see CodeToad saying he has no sin (as you implied falsely with the 1 John quote you posted). I think you should actually deal with what CodeToad ways rather than falsely attribute beliefs to him that I don’t think he expressed.

What you state as a struggle is a CHOICE. To satisfy yourself or not. NO ONE can make that choice for anyone. So don't make so much drama about it.

Look, I have a lot of sympathy and empathy for ANYONE who is trying to overcome a particular sin.

LOOK, save you sympathy for yourself because no one can change anyone else without them first ACCEPTING the Truth and then OBEYING it. It is as simple as that. People WANT to please themselves. And all your wasted sympathy cannot do one thing about it. If what GOD says about a matter doesn't move one to make a right choice, what makes you think your sympathy will? Get over yourself, you aren't that powerful.

And no I am not trying to minimize sin. I am trying to express that old cliche that still rings true: Hate the sin, but love the sinner. Follow the example of Christ.

Take you own advice - love the sinner enough to tell him the truth and that he has to make his own choice. And that IS following the example of Christ.

BTW, eating ice cream is not a sin and putting down the spoon was a choice. And, actually, very easy because I WANTED to. I didn't WANT to before. It's laughable to think sympathy will do anything - it's all drama to bring attention to yourself as 'look how good I am, I care'.

Caring in placing yourself on The Cross and being beaten to save man from his sinful self - until you do that - ZIP the lip. If they don't BELIEVE the ONE who died for them - your sympathy produces zilch.

Be a warrior for those they roam about seeking to devour instead.

Sinful people do not need sympathy, sinful people need Truth and Jesus gave it to them. So YOU do the same.

“Do you believe man fell?”

Yes.

“Is the natural man a slave to sin?”

All men, even those who believe in Christ, suffer from concupiscence, which is a result of Original Sin.

Fr. John Hardon’s Modern Catholic Dictionary:

concupiscence:

Insubordination of man’s desires to the dictates of reason, and the propensity of human nature to sin as a result of original sin. More commonly, it refers to the spontaneous movement of the sensitive appetites toward whatever the imagination portrays as pleasant and away from whatever it portrays as painful. However, concupiscence also includes the unruly desires of the will, such as pride, ambition, and envy. (Etym. Latin con-, thoroughly + cupere, to desire: concupiscentia, desire, greed, cupidity.)

AFter the open and radio/television broadcasted threat of the Los Angleles Basin queer population, voluntarily lying about their personal health history when donating their own blood to the Red Cross blood banks in the entire Greater Los Angeles area, thereby contaminating the entire blood supply, in 1984, I have held them in contempt.

They deserve no more “special rights”, than what is in print, in The Bill of Rights, already.

Oh yeah, I forgot. It was Bill Clinton, that signed a presidential order in 1993, making it a felony to discriminate against a fellow government worker, because “they are gay”.

He’s also saying that there is no struggle with temptation. What do you think about that part?

I believe there most certainly is a struggle with temptation. I think that is exactly what Genesis 4 describes. The Catechism is pretty clear on that as well:

1707 “Man, enticed by the Evil One, abused his freedom at the very beginning of history.” He succumbed to temptation and did what was evil. He still desires the good, but his nature bears the wound of original sin. He is now inclined to evil and subject to error:

Man is divided in himself. As a result, the whole life of men, both individual and social, shows itself to be a struggle, and a dramatic one, between good and evil, between light and darkness. (11 GS 13 § 2.)

That part of the Catechism brings to mind Paul’s description in Romans of how we battle our sinful natures. I agree that we choose to sin, and I also agree that temptation is a struggle, not an excuse. Appreciate the response.

Well, you keep that mind closed up in ignorance in order to defend your postion. I made the mistake of engaging you. I shouldn’t have... and I won’t again.

“... that transcends sin and describes evil.” EGGS ACKLEY! It is also how an invader destroys the taboo structure of a well ordered society. The invader in this case is the father of lies a murderer from the start.

I’ve known several homosexuals through the years who were believers and attended church but struggled mightily with coming away from that lifestyle. All had relapses and fell back into it. Sexual sins touch way down to the core and although some have successfully overcome that pull most do not. Its sad to see. There are homosexual churches and only God is the ultimate judge of each soul and the intent of each heart.
The arrogant, prideful promoters of the gay lifestyle will have a harsher reward if they refuse repentance and reject the atonement of the messiah Jesus.

I side with Vladimir here. Solidly on his side.

Bad theology = souls lost to sin. It is good that Keith did find the Lord. it is bad that he taught error and thus lead many others to eternal damnation.

This issue of the Last Days Newsletter also featured an article by Sy Rogers, so deep into the homosexual identity, he began the process of gender mutulation (”sex change”), Before he found salvation. Well worth it to look up this issue.

I won’t zip my lip, as we are called by Christ to the Great Commission.....which means teaching and admonishing and following the examples of the Apostles.....while they spoke the unvarnished truth, they also performed acts of kindness to show their commitment to the Way.

We have to do more than just talk the truth....

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

See, here’s what happened. When you said you had sympathy and empathy, he twisted that into you believing that sympathy and empathy can save people from sin. I don’t think that’s what you meant, but good luck.

I told you over and over to TELL THEM THE TRUTH and that is the Great Commission.

All your thread is about is YOUR sympathy - your sympathy can’t do a thing - ONLY THE WORD CAN!

And then you come back with this post? LOL!!

Talk about fulfilling a WANT ... to deceive.

Nope, the example and command of Christ is what we are to follow. His words and his deeds, that is what the apostles did.

Your mere assumption of “tell” implies merely speaking. The Bible teaches speaking without actions is wrong. Faith without works is dead.

I’ll do it the Bible’s way. Not yours.

Good. Next time don’t use a thread to tell how you have sympathy for homos. March in their parade and hold their flag instead.

Man is divided in himself. As a result, the whole life of men, both individual and social, shows itself to be a struggle, and a dramatic one, between good and evil, between light and darkness.

Man is divided in himself.

Yet, catholics are taught by man and their teachings.

Not surprised they don't teach this.....what God says on the subject.

"For such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

It's not a dramatic struggle to those who know what is good and what is evil. Simply choose what is good. And nothing dramatic about it for a born again Christian.
