The real threat here is not immigration. Because every single bill offered in the senate and the house are in agreement over one thing.

To make e-Verify *mandatory* for all employment.

This is a totalitarian effort, because it means you cannot be legally employed unless you have federal government permission to be employed.

And while the e-Verify system is *supposed* to just verify that you have a legitimate SSN, do you think for an instant that it will not be corrupted to politically persecute people?

The program is operated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in partnership with Social Security Administration.

And we’ve all learned to *trust* the DHS, haven’t we?

So unless you either trust the federal government, or are willing to spend the rest of your life in the gray economy, being paid in cash and buying everything in cash; you had better hope and pray that this is KILLED DEAD.

E-Verify is not the problem. We already have paper processes that do the same thing except it is easier to commit fraud with the I-9 process.
