Edward Snowden is a patriot
Politico ^

Does President Barack Obama think we’re stupid?

That’s the only conclusion possible after watching Friday’s bravura performance in which the president announced a set of proposals meant to bring more transparency to the National Security Agency — and claimed he would have done it anyway, even if Edward Snowden had never decided to leak thousands of highly sensitive documents to The Guardian’s Glenn Greenwald.

But even as he grudgingly admitted that the timing, at least, of his suggestions was a consequence of Snowden’s actions, the president declared, “I don’t think Mr. Snowden was a patriot.” When you look at what has changed over the past two months, though, it’s hard not to wonder, “What could be more patriotic than what Snowden did?”

First, the results: More than a dozen bills have already been introduced to put a stop to the NSA’s mass phone record collection program and to overhaul the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, which has reinterpreted the Fourth Amendment in secret, creating a body of privacy law that the public has never read. A half-dozen new privacy lawsuits have been filed against the NSA. The Pentagon is undergoing an unprecedented secrecy audit. U.S. officials have been caught deceiving or lying to Congress. The list goes on.

He doesn’t need to join Russian commie bootlickers in Russia when he can just stay here with American commie bootlickers.

A commie is a commie. Wrapping oneself in what used to be an American flag, a flag of bygone freedom, doesn’t make a leftist or commie noble. It just makes a person disingenuous, or at least, a naive brainwashed American.

That wasn't my question. Do you honestly think that Russia is our friend and not our enemy?

Obama was going to (bring transparency to NSA) even if there
was no Snowden. And you can keep your own doctor and health
insurance policy too. And it cuts the deficit.

Watta multi-tasker----imagine, he's doing all that while vacaying and golfing in secluded Martha's Vineyard.

And besides, his sinking numbers and looming 2014 midterms n-e-v-e-r once entered his mind.

My opinion is Obama wanted Snowden to end up in Russia where he would spill his guts eventually. No one defects to Russia without this taking place. So Obama made it impossible for Ed Snowden to obtain asylum in more civilized nations which were Snowdens first choices. Such as Iceland.

NSA honchos also wanted this outcome because this means higher demand from Congress for black budget billions to be spent on services of their favored contractor buddies. IOW follow the money with the NSA. NSA is contractor driven and also driven by the bureaucratic empire builders within NSA.

****** Money money money means that so of course you want to expand to spying on and storing all electronic communications in America and that cross through America. In America where compliant corporations allow NSA to install a fiber optic cable taps

Obama doesn’t think we’re stupid. He thinks “Holder’s People” are stupid. They are, and that is enough. You don’t have to fool all of the people all of the time to get your way in politics.

We could spend days talking about Obama and whe he's done to this country so let's stick with Snowden for now. If you don't think Snowden has compromised our intelligence efforts against China and Russia then why do you think they aided him?

Yeah as quiet as it’s kept I hear they are actually, and you didn’t hear it from me—PATRIOTS who didn’t hand their country’s secrets over to the Russian president. All of you Putin boot lickers should join your traitorous hero in Russia.

Another traitorous, obbbama boot licker crawls out of the sewer.

Observe just how incredibly much people are asking us to change now, will you? Tell me:

WHICH of our founders would have approved of the intercept and storage of ALL of our electronic communication..?

Can’t you see that even if we permitted the intercept of just 1% of it that we would no longer be America..? Yet we are permitting FAR more than that.

Yup. Throwing away all our freedoms because the gubmint promises to keep us “safe.” Yet many in here are perfectly ok with that.

You really don't understand, do you?

No, I guess I don't. I will gladly die fighting for what I believe is right. I have offered my life for my country before and would do it again. I believe in America herself, not our corrupt government.

It's not the fact that Snowden leaked information on the NSA surveillence directed against U.S. citizens that troubles me. It's the information that he gave the Chinese and Russians on our intelligence activities directed against them that does. And there is no other way to explain Russia and China's help except that Snowden gave them information on U.S. activities directed against them.

Russian and Putin are our enemy. You think Snowden’s intel isn’t being shared with America’s enemies?

Hn, he never would have gotten that intel if PRISM didn't exist.

OK, so we are supposed to not allow our government to listen in to cell data in order to possibility stop an attack? For people here to say that nothing has been stopped with this info is just BS. Sort of obvious that they have, as we have been told. Come on now...you cannot deny an obvious fact just to try and support your point of view. I agree it is not the best thing to have to do, however, we are at war and during war time, in order for our nation to survive, it may not be wrong to disobey the Constitution. It happened in the civil war. And of course the borders are priority, but the fact of the matter is that the terrorist cells are already here!

NSA had so many people with top level access that sooner or later an Ed Snowden would come along and spill the beans. I think I read about one million people had Snowden level access. Why. Because NSA idiots are more focused on bureaucrat empire building and making the NSA contactors (such as employed Snowden) rich and happy

As near as I can tell whenever someone disagrees with and upsets an old-timer like yourself they get labeled a re-tread troll or something like that. I didn't realize you all were so unsure of yourselves.

No wonder you are an Obot regime bootlicker.

Whatever. At least I don't suck up to China or Russia.
