I don’t see him as a hero. He was a leftist, who took the oath of secrecy with the deliberate intention of violating it. I don’t think he is a very nice guy.

That said, no question that what he did has benefitted the country, especially because he did it while Obama was in charge. Probably he would have been happier doing it when Bush was in charge, but never mind.

I think this is a case of the left betraying the left—an internal quarrel in the ranks of liberals. But I certainly agree that it has done a lot more good than harm.
