A few nights ago I looked out the window and saw a fox going by in my yard. I opened the window thinking I'd get a better look as it was running away, but as I did, the fox stopped and looked up at me. We stood there for a few moments, each of us just looking at one another - it seemed very odd, but it was awesome. The fox finally looked away and continued on where ever it was going. I then looked up into the sky and saw a shooting star. Neither event was particulary strange I guess - but, seemed appropriate at evening vespers.

Today I saw a falcon standing in the road. He didn't move or fly away as I approached and passed by. I saw no prey or roadkill nearby - just that falcon standing in the middle of the road, watching and unflinching as I passed within a few feet. It's something to remember when I offer my prayer of thanks this evening - something specific to give praise for when I say, 'Thanks Lord for another day on planet Earth'.

You're right brother, no one can take it away, but there is One who can give you the strength to carry it. I've been sitting here for the last 20 minutes practicing a song I'll be singing in church tomorrow. It has the following lyric ...
