-— Yep, the Pope gets the exception on this one. It is called speaking “ex cathedra” - i.e infallible. -—

The doctrine doesn’t apply, since he is no longer the pope. Even if he was the pope, he wasn’t teaching regarding faith and morals, and he wasn’t invoking the charism of infallibility..

But I believe that he is telling the truth.

I would think that it’s obvious that he was listening to God. Don’t we all try to discern God’s will in prayer and contemplation, regardless of our labels? Yes, I’m a Catholic, but I’d be shocked by any non-Catholic, church going Christian who wasn’t seeking God’s way.

We should treat all people with dignity as befitting their status as a child of God. Or are you saying that we should treat them with contempt?

Anti Catholic bias? The Vatican bank is one of the most corrupt organizations in Italy, Europe, and perhaps in the world.

Even as I type this, I understand the disconnect between you and me. It is that you are looking at this Pope as the spiritual head of the church—leading the flock.

In this context, I am looking at him as the CEO of the Catholic Church Corporation.

Both of these jobs are the responsibility of the Bishop of Rome.

I do not think the religious/spiritual side of the church is corrupt. I think we can both agree that the “Church of Rome, Inc.” has some work to do.

There’s lots of evils. And anti-Catholicism is one of the worst.

Top 10 worst? Perhaps you can share the prioritized list of evils for all of our benefits.
