Ditter~:" If he thought his car had been tampered with and he wanted to go to the airport, why didn’t he call a cab?"

Perhaps a sense of urgency !

Ditter~:” If he thought his car had been tampered with and he wanted to go to the airport, why didn’t he call a cab?”

Same reason he didn’t pick up his phone, and call LAX (or the airline) and book an airline ticket in advance — because if you’re telling everybody that FBI is following/investigating you, and you believe they tampered with your car, and you knock on your neighbor’s door at MIDNIGHT asking to borrow her car and telling her you must “get out of town,” you sure as hell don’t pick up your phone and start telegraphing your moves over an (obviously tapped) phone.

Calling a taxi to LAX says “HELLO NSA? I’m fleeing the country. Could you please kill me, or at least send a driver in a ‘taxi’ sedan to pick me up, kill me, and dispose of my body? Oh, you’ll be here in 20 minutes? Okay, great, I’ll wait.”

Instead, you wait until the middle of the night, sneak out of your apartment thru the window, slip inside your car, and race to LAX as fast as humanly possible (blowing red lights).... then you run inside the airport to the ticket counter and book a ticket on the next (early morning flight around 6/7am) going to any city in the general ballpark of your destination.

That’s what Hastings was doing.

That’s why he waited until 4:30am to leave the house — because there’s not many flights departing until 6am-7am-8am. If you leave home around 4:30am, you arrive at LAX maybe 5am, then you run inside, buy a ticket for the first flight out, perhaps 6am or 7am, and you wait in the well-lit waiting area and you sit in full view of people to avoid getting Breitbarted.

Tapping your phone is probably the first thing CIA/NSA does when they take an interest in you. Hell, they’ve admitted collecting phone data AND emails from every American citizen anyway, and by lunch tomorrow, we’ll get “NSA revelation #99999999999” about how they’re “Whoops, also tapping everybody’s phone.”
