Better hurry. There's "only" 121 shopping days left before Christmas.
If you think that sounds ridiculous so do I. But all it takes is for one major retailer to start Christmas promotions a few days earlier than last year, and all the lemming fall in line.

Perpetual Santa Claus needs a perpetual Christmas.....
June 15: the day we pay off taxes owed to the king and begin saving for Christmas?
December 24: when the critters jam through bad legislation, knowing we won’t lynch them.
If you advertise prior to Thanksgiving, I won’t patronize your business. Easy enough.
Costco already has Christmas decorations out.
I have not spent a dime on this idiotic annual shopping shindig in decades. The moron store owners can buy all the ads they like, my TIVO zips right past them.
Watching consumers buried in debt run up the credit cards to buy crap that will be in a landfill in a month bums me out.
Costco already has Christmas decorations out.”
Went to Dollar Tree for groceries last week and they are starting to put some Christmas things out as the shelves empty of back-to-school supplies. Also noticed when I was flipping through channels on TV two weeks ago that QVC also had some listings for specials on Christmas decorations.
Did I somehow miss Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Columbus Day, Halloween, Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving?
Don’t these people realize that we are trying to just get through the rest of August? Good grief. Makes my head hurt.

I refuse to buy Christmas decorations that are made in Communist China
Some people I know do spend a lot of money every year on shiny new glittery stuff.
In my garage, I have 22 big tubs full of decorations, plus all those things that belonged to my daughter who is now an Angel, plus all those things that belonged to my mom. Every year I say I’m not decorating for Christmas but every year I end up having two open houses and buffets for clients, one for my neighbors, a White Elephant gift exchange for Girl’s Night Out, my oldest grandson visits for a few days and my son, dil and youngest grandson come over to celebrate Christmas.
So I decorate every room in the house using all the Christmas decorations ever made by my children and grandchildren and in one bedroom is my oldest grandson’s tree he first got 21 years ago, complete with all the original decorations and everything added in between then and now. So decorating is a trip down memory lane for me and for others who have come to know the significance of many of the items.
Nothing made by anyone in any country could ever replace anything I have and I consider it all complete and my family all present, some only by what they left behind, when everything is finally in its rightful place.
And, for me, that is what Christmas is all about, not all the glitz and glamor of shiny, new decorations, made in a country by people that don’t even honor the day of His birth.
