Ten years ago or so, some white California high-school kids went public with some pretty frank admissions about harboring ethnic animus against blacks and Mexicans. They were blunt: their odium and animus arose from being around them and being abused, cursed, beaten, etc., without recourse of any kind -- being punching bags. And these were kids who'd been brought up to be good little NEA liberals.
