Black man claims he was kicked out of SC restaurant because a white woman 'felt threatened'

A group of 25 African-Americans were thrown out of a South Carolina restaurant after a white woman complained to staff that she "felt threatened," it's claimed.

Michael Brown alleges that his party, which was celebrating his cousin's last day in Charleston last month, waited for two hours to be seated at the Wild Wing Cafe.

But when their time came to order, staff reportedly refused them service and asked them to leave.
.
.
.
"The manager looked me dead in the face and said she was refusing us service because she had a right to and simply she felt like it. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS ESTABLISHMENT... PLEASE SHARE THIS POST... We need your help," he ended.

The post soon went viral and finally prompted Wild Wing Cafe's chief marketing officer Debra Stokes into speaking to Brown.

A normal person, black or white would have called the restaurant a few days ahead, to reserve seating for 25 people. You don’t just show up with a crowd and assume, or expect that the place can accommodate you on the spur of a moment.

“A normal person”... stop there.
These people are the professionally offended.
Doesn’t matter what happened, they are the agreived ones and will get their pound of white flesh.
Sucks to be a business owner in America now while there is a professionally offended bunch in charge now.

One of patrons there that day who did not want to be identified gave us his take on what happened after it was alleged a customer was threatened in the bathroom and the group was asked to leave.

“We had an altercation come up, we are not going to be able to serve you, and we are going to ask you to leave— jewelry, earrings, jackets were taken off to insinuate a fight was going to break out. Then they wait for an hour outside and the two girls had to be escorted to their cars by bouncers and some of the staff there at wild wings.”

Two weeks ago my wife & I and my elderly mother were in an Olive Garden restaurant, seated in an area well away from the usual traffic. Before long a group of blacks came in & occupied a table for sixteen nearby to us. Adults & children, all sizes & ages.

Within five minutes I realized that if I hadn’t seen them come in I wouldn’t have known what color they were. The conversation was normal, the children well behaved, all were polite to the wait staff, they talked of back to school & other things, if we listened closely.

We continued our meal, but pleasantly surprised? Of course, given the headlines of the last few months.

While they waited, some customers - both whites and blacks - were seated before they were, she said.

I saw her complete statement on another thread. The reason other people were being seated first is that the large table that the staff were trying to create was in a different section. Tables not in that section were still being seated normally.

This is normal for most restaurants, but the fact that it's normal isn't obvious to the average joe customer. They see other customers coming and going and they wonder what's going on. Especially when they've been primed 24/7 by the media to believe they're being Trayvonned.

The whole episode as told by Michael Brown is a complete crock. I hope it gets legs because it will be easy to undercut. Then it can be used as a lesson to show blacks that they need to quit being so touchy, and to show guilt-ridden whites that not every cry of racism is legit.

My one criticism of the restaurant is that a skillful manager could probably have diffused the situation by simply keeping the group informed about what was going on.

What? That might actually require some effort on their part.

How can you be so insensitive?

In my opinion the better way for the manager to handle things would simply to tell the group that he could not accommodate such a large group on such short notice.

It is simply ridiculous to expect a restaurant to go through the trouble and expense of trying to seat such a large group together on short notice. To do so cost the restaurant money. It also inconveniences other customers by making them wait longer while tables sit vacant waiting for enough tables come available for the large group to be seated together.

True. Maybe the manager shouldn’t have taken the group at all.

I might even speculate that if the group hadn’t been black, that’s exactly what he would have done. Wouldn’t surprise me a bit if the manager went against his best interests and took the group in order not to appear racist. That would be the great big ironic cherry on top of this whole thing.

We’re not far from Fort Campbell, KY. The family group may well have been associated with the 101st Division (AA). Lots of military families nearby, I guess that means sometimes we can all just get along.

I had a similar thing happen to me and a bunch of my friends, and we HAD reservations.

It was a medieval-themed bar/restaurant, and we were a Medieval History club. We planned a night out for the club, mostly college students or recent graduates, and showed up in medieval clothing - tunics, long gowns for the girls, capes and so on. We took some kidding from the early crowd of ‘regulars,’ who were drinking at the bar; we were seated, as a group, for supper. We cheerfully bantered back. We had just ordered pre-dinner drinks, and were being served, when the manager came out and asked us to leave. We left, not without complaining; when we got to the home of one of the young ladies, her parents called the restaurant to complain.

We never went back, and we made sure that all our friends knew exactly why. The bar used to get a lot of college kids’ trade. They went out of business soon thereafter.

when I was in college, I bartended for a resto/bar in the city and was my first shift. It happens from time to time that a large group will show up and “dictate” they want the entire establishment.

if the manager really is good, he/she will be able to control the situation but if the party is overbearing, then the manager calls the department heads as “back up”, especially the bouncer.

I always knew at the back of my mind that this story was BS coming from the blacks, and I’m not PC about this. MOST of the time, they are the ones causing the commotion based on my experience.

Until the black thuggery ends there will be a lot more of this.

The “thuggery” won’t start ending until we get rid of Obama and the RATs. This $h!t is their stock and trade. Only when the correct kind of “social pressure” is applied to the Gibbsmedats, will things change. The longer we let them get away with their “rent a mob” tactics, the longer it will be until we see an end to this stuff. Blacks remind me of the Muzzies. The “decent ones” won’t do anything to put the ferals in their place.

“You don’t just show up with a crowd and assume, or expect that the place can accommodate you on the spur of a moment.”

An NHL team that was stranded due to a mechanical failure showed up unannounced late at night this year. The difference?

They called up beforehand. The resto’ was able to scrounge up food for a party of 20 NHL players and the resto’ got rewarded with free tickets for the playoffs...even if the resto’ was in the opposing team’s city. Class. The moral of the story is that the world does not evolve around you. I bartended in college and this happens on occasions, and not rare.
