Black man claims he was kicked out of SC restaurant because a white woman 'felt threatened'

A group of 25 African-Americans were thrown out of a South Carolina restaurant after a white woman complained to staff that she "felt threatened," it's claimed.

Michael Brown alleges that his party, which was celebrating his cousin's last day in Charleston last month, waited for two hours to be seated at the Wild Wing Cafe.

But when their time came to order, staff reportedly refused them service and asked them to leave.
.
.
.
"The manager looked me dead in the face and said she was refusing us service because she had a right to and simply she felt like it. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS ESTABLISHMENT... PLEASE SHARE THIS POST... We need your help," he ended.

The post soon went viral and finally prompted Wild Wing Cafe's chief marketing officer Debra Stokes into speaking to Brown.

You don’t just show up with a crowd and assume, or expect that the place can accommodate you on the spur of a moment.

You do is you possess an entitlement mentality...

The key post from that thread, courtesy of iopscusa:

Another side of story found after 5 second search:
“You’re only getting one side of story here. I work at the restaurant and your representation of the events is way off base. The group was being loud and obnoxious to both customers and staffers. They kept complaining about their long wait and were talking about how “whitey” was able to get seated, but they were not. The problem was that they had a large group and insisted on sitting next to each other. We only had one area that could accommodate their large group and the patrons in that area were not done. So yes, some “whities” were able to be seated before them, but only because they were going to a different area. We also seated non-whites in other areas too…They made this a racial issue before anything. One of the guests also insulted a deaf white girl because she didn’t respond to one of them telling her to move (she was deaf and didn’t hear them) They were also all standing in the middle of the walk way, making it difficult for customers to leave. We asked them if they could move over, but they said they can stand wherever they want, and if we wanted them out of the way then we should seat them. The customer that was offended was offended by a particular individual’s constant uses of the word “n*gger” When asked to stop, he threw out a long string of racial epithets against one of my co-workers.”

An NHL team that was stranded due to a mechanical failure showed up unannounced late at night this year. The difference? They called up beforehand.

You contradict yourself: they didn't show up unannounced - they called beforehand, and found out if they could be accommodated (and gave the restaurant a chance to get ready for them). If that establishment wasn't able (or willing) to do so, they would have likely tried to make other arrangements rather than just showing up.

Yes, perhaps the manager shouldn’t have made the effort to seat them as requested, but I imagine the first instinct of a restaurant manager is to try to accommodate everyone he or she possibly can, even if it takes more effort (and possibly lower profits) because of the goodwill (read: repeat business) it can generate.

Better communication to the waiting party may have prevented this from becoming a “situation”, but it’s also possible that no amount of effort would have been successful.

so lets see here; there’s 25 black dudes waiting around for two hours yet not one of them had a phone with a video camera to record any of the alleged racial incidents??? hmm- sorry if i’m a bit suspicious....

I'd bet that there were plenty in the group recording, but, what is on video doesn't match their claim. The cops should check the phones of the 25. Bet that would shut them up.
