Well, we will need a good gun manufacture pony up for production of a modern Garand.

I am no fan of the AR type rifles. Except the 308 version.

My taste call for a bigger bore.

If the production run was large and the right gun company took it on, we would not need to re-import weapons. Some one like Savage who already makes an excellent rifle at a very reasonable cost.

Imagine what they would be able to do with a huge production run. Or closer to home, some enterprising gun manufacturer in Texas could do the same thing.

Springfield Armory built a mil-spec Garand clone for quite a few years, but eventually discontinued it. I still see them new in the box at gun shows, on occasion.

I suspect they'll bring it back, once the CMP supply dries up for good.
