Sex between students and teachers should not be a crime (Actual title)

As protesters decry the leniency of Rambold’s sentence — he will spend 30 days in prison after pleading guilty to raping 14-year-old Cherice Morales, who committed suicide at age 16 — I find myself troubled for the opposite reason. I don’t believe that all sexual conduct between underage students and teachers should necessarily be classified as rape, and I believe that absent extenuating circumstances, consensual sexual activity between teachers and students should not be criminalized.

[Snip]

I’ve been a 14-year-old girl, and so have all of my female friends. When it comes to having sex on the brain, teenage boys got nothin’ on us. When I was growing up in the 1960s and ’70s, the sexual boundaries between teachers and students were much fuzzier. Throughout high school, college and law school, I knew students who had sexual relations with teachers. To the best of my knowledge, these situations were all consensual in every honest meaning of the word, even if society would like to embrace the fantasy that a high school student can’t consent to sex. Although some feelings probably got bruised, no one I knew was horribly damaged and certainly no one died.

A more realistic approach would be to treat violations in a way that removes and rehabilitates the offender without traumatizing the victim. The intensity of criminal proceedings, with all the pressure they put on participants, the stigma, the community and media scrutiny, and the concurrent shame and guilt they generate, do the opposite of healing and protecting the victim.

Only if the teacher is ugly and socially unskilled and unlikely to find adult partners.

Huffington Post Suggests Conservative Woman Should Be Raped
August 30, 2013 by Breaking News 9 Comments

Leave it to a progressive male to publicly promote the rape of conservative radio host, activist, wife and mother Dana Loesch.
Late last night, in response to a tweet from Loesch about gun control, Huffington Post contributor Pascal Robert told her she should be raped and described a sick sexual fantasy.

“I know you would look lovely with thigh high stockings and would love to have a brother give to you up the ass. Wouldn’t you?” Robert said.
@DLoesch I know you would look lovely with thigh high stockings and would love to have a brother give to you up the ass. Wouldn’t you?

Sex between male students above 15 and hot female teachers is a gray area.

In the minds of liberals, sex between teachers and students isn’t a bug, or a feature. It’s the whole damn point.

This is "progressivism" in action. It's absolutely inevitable that this kind of thinking would emerge among progressives. By definition, the term "progressive" is not anchored in any specific belief or moral code, but is rather a commitment to change for the sake of change, and this is why progressivism often goes full circle over time, returning to positions it had long-ago abandoned. For example, the wars against Native Americans and the forcible stripping of Native Americans from their traditions were once considered "progressive" ideas, as were forced sterilizations of the "unfit" and other eugenicist ideas.

The same tendency which led to forcible destruction of Native American culture is now re-emerging in attitudes towards traditional Christians, where progressives are now saying that the state educational systems can actively and openly undermine Christian values and beliefs, and that parents do not have the right to educate children according to their own values.

“I would rather go for long jail sentences”

Inadequate, either as punishment or deterrent.

We should either execute them or legalize it. Pretending we really care while allowing them to live is destructive hypocrisy.

BS.

If women burned like men, every woman on the planet would be having sex eight and ten times a day, every day.

No chance that other students not f***ing the teacher will resent his or her treatment.

On a slow day, like when there is a football game on, otherwise put a 1 in front of those numbers.

Maybe because the punishment is more severe for the men, as it probably should be. Also, young boys tend to brag and call attention to the “act”.

In fact, anyone in a position of power over another should be able to demand sex from them at any time.
