Glad to see there is someone here who shares my optimism. It’s occasionally shaky, but it’s strong enough to weather the storm.
Things are dark right now, but hand-wringing and an attitude of “nothing can be done about it” will not get us through the dark times.
I wish more FReepers had your attitude and were willing to express it.
Thank you.
Amen. Great post.
This is one of the best parts of FR, the chance to discuss issues like this with fellow conservatives. I can see merit to both sides of this issue and it is good that we are not afraid to raise points that others may not have considered.
IMO, chaplains should consider “civil disobedience.” That would be much better than resigning. What would happen if all of the chaplains worshiped openly and freely? Would the military kick them all out? If so, that itself would make quite a statement. What if the soldiers followed suit?
Some soldiers put their lives on the line to defend America (which despite what progressives would like to believe was established as a Christian nation with Christian principles, including the recognition of free will which allows every person to choose his religion or to chose no religion). Is it too much to ask the Christian soldiers to put their careers on the line?
Is this a trick question?
Liberty? Sez right here ... not dead at all.
You want me to spell it out for ya? Might not be dead, but he aint breathin' too well...
Great point. Some Chaplain needs to take the lead.
