Discernment is our friend.

You're right, discernment is our friend.

That's why you should know by now that liberals are the bad guys.

The time for the same-old same-old fence-sitting kumbaya crap is over.

The country is being economically destroyed, martial law is all but imposed, and healthcare has turned into tax-to-deathcare.

Put down the tamborine, and wake the hell up.

Lieutenant DAN!

I'm really proud for Gary Sinise. He did most of what he's done for the military, out of the public eye.

I hope the Kenyan is watching.

I would rather the African communist bastard have no part in this at all.

As others have noted, he’s a great guy. He also does many, many personal and private actions for families of the fallen.

Bewdy. Mr. Sinise has over the years proven himself to be a class act and one of the most selfless individuals I know of in his support of the troops. I can not begin to remember all the times he has performed in USO shows, performed with his "Lt. Dan Band", appeared out of the blue to show support for some way outback location to help in whatever way he can, and unfailingly provided many smiles and uplifting moments for our servicemembers through thick and thin.

I am very glad that he has had this recognition bestowed upon him, not because some politician thought it would make good headlines and bring in votes as near as I can determine, but because he truly is a man who deserves to be honored and recognized for his continuing selflessness and dedication.

In early August 2013, the Lt Dan Band hosted a benefit concert in Cedar Falls, IA for a local hero, Taylor Morris, who lost all four limbs in May 2012 to a land mine in Afghanistan. The purpose was to raise money to build Taylor a smart home. The concert raised over $500k. Gary is a true patriot and deserves our respect and prayers and he put on one heck of a concert.

God Bless You Gary!!!!1

Love Gary Senise, caught his Lt Dan Band with comedian Dennis Miller a few years ago in a salute to the troops. Dennis is also a big backer of our troops.

If you want to watch a classic silent movie I recommend, 'Tell It To The Marines', starring Lon Chaney (Sr.). I was lucky to catch it on TCM about a year ago and I will probably try to pick up the DVD for my collection. Anyway, the movie was so good the Marines made Chaney their very first honorary Marine from the motion picture industry. From Wiki:

In the final five years of his film career (1925–1930), Chaney worked exclusively under contract to MGM, giving some of his most memorable performances. His portrayal of a tough-as-nails marine drill instructor in Tell It to the Marines (1926), one of his favorite films, earned him the affection of the US Marine Corps, who made him their first honorary member from the motion picture industry.

I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this than Gary. This man truly loves the men and women in our military.

Good for him! We need more folks like him.

There is a whole generation of young men & women who never served in Vietnam because they were too young, nor did they serve in Gulf War I and II because they were already over the hill.

This same generation (born 1954-1974) grew up in a post-Vietnam anti-war, anti-government and anti-Patriotism environment. In the last two decades (and due to 9/11) we've seen these same young people (aging Baby Boomers)in Hollywood act out a role they missed, for example, Tom Hanks (Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump, Band of Brothers and Pacific) and many others his age.

In reality they missed serving their country, hey missed out giving something to the nation but via the silver screen they can “contribute” something even belatedly.

Good for them. Not all Hollywood trashes our country and those who serve or served...

It’s the conservative/libertarian blend. May not agree 100% but agree 90% of the time.
