President Barack Obama said Tuesday he was "confident" that Congress would authorize military force against Syria, and stressed that such action would be limited and meant to "degrade" the capabilities of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad. "I'm going to support the president's call for action," House Speaker John Boehner said after meeting with Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell and the heads of key congressional committees also attended the meeting.

Hussein really has the goods on Boner, such that Boner can’t fulfill the duties of his job. Ohio needs to recall him.
On the one hand, we can side with al Qaeda and overthrow one of the last secular leaders in the Middle East, while also angering that leader's close ally, Russia
OR
We can stay out of it.
You may see both sides as roughly equivalent, but I have no difficulty choosing a path.
Yours is an interesting perspective, and I appreciate you sharing it. I would like to add something into the mix:
This is all about Russia’s monopoly on European natural gas and the desire of the Arab states to break into that market. It has NOTHING to do with chemical weapons, Iran’s nuke, or the continued existence of Israel.
This is something that Saudi Arabia and its client and satellite states want. We are clearly now a full-on client-state of the Saudi Arabian Empire. They say JUMP and we ask HOW HIGH AND WHEN, SIR.
This may be the reason Obama bowed when meeting the Saudi leaders.
There IS *some* good news that comes out of this, if Russia and China hold their fire and dont respond to our WWIII provocation:
Now that we are fully a client, satellite-state of the Saudi Arabian Empire, they are likely to spend some of their trillions floating our impossible economy by buying our worthless bonds.
That means we get a few more years before we become a full-on, Max-Max third world shithole.
Me, Im stocking up and planning a way out.
Time for them to be replaced.
No! If even one republican votes with them they will say they had bipartisan support for this fiasco.
You seem to be operating under the illusion that anyone in congress is honest. They all seem to be corrupt, wholly-owned subsidiaries of lobbyists. Or at least for sale.
Obama apparently met Boehner's price.
There is no advantage in attacking Syria to anyone except manufacturers of war machinery
I respect your opinion and never claimed the two arguments were equal. To me it isn’t as clear cut. In spite Assad being “one of the last secular leaders in the Middle East,” He is an Iran ally, enemy of Israel and willing to use sarin gas on his own people. he is no choir boy.
me too
of course he was going to cave he always caves
Yep. Plain and simple. We'll all be bowing to the sheiks very soon. Well, maybe not me. I'll be confined to my home, wearing a burqa.
DUMP the speaker and all who vote with him and the White House. Over 91% of us (We The People) vote NO on this one. It isn’t our business, it isn’t our country, and we should not be in the business of WAR with either side. Let them blow each other up and we will be done with the bastards!!
He could not be any more useless.
I believe they know something is going to happen and this is all a distraction from something coming our way. Don’t know what but I think it is a big event. Who knows maybe Comet Ison that is coming in November to January is going to have something bad in store for us. OK Flame away. Equip my tinfoil.
If there are any doubts that Boehner is in bed with the Democrats they should be erased with his roll over on this particular issue.
Boehner is in bed with K Street not the Dems. The big donors don’t want principled, engaged opposition to the kenyan. They want kick the can down the road deals with these rampaging marxists. So the tan man is doing their bidding on this one just like amnesty, kenyancare, spending, etc., etc. We are seeing once again the total abandonment of Main St. by the beltway GOP.
