There is no reason for Russia to be our “number one geopolitical foe”
I don’t care what Putin says for public consumption, the Soviet Union is dead, buried, it’s joined the choir invisible. Bereft of life it rests in peace.
Russia may be a rival, but that doesn’t necessarily make it an enemy.

And you know this because? Seems to me that Romney came out against all of those things during the campaign.
Again, on the Gay Agenda, YOU were not paying attention:
Tovia Smith of WBUR radio in Boston asked Romney during an October 1994 debate, Mr. Romney, you say youre a moderate on social issues, one who will defend abortion rights, equal rights for women, for blacks and for gays -- in fact, you say you will do more to promote gay rights than Senator Kennedy.
Smith continued, You also sit on the national Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America, which has an exclusionary policy banning gay members. Do you support that policy and, if not, have you ever done anything as a board member to oppose it?
Romney said, I believe that the Boy Scouts of America does a wonderful service for this country. I support the right of the Boy Scouts of America to decide what it wants to do on that issue. I feel that all people should be allowed to participate in the Boy Scouts regardless of their sexual orientation.
Romney campaign spokesperson Andrea Saul confirmed the Associated Press on Aug. 5 that Romney maintains the position he took back in 1994.

“Russia may be a rival, but that doesnt necessarily make it an enemy.”
I totally agree. As a matter of fact, I would believe Putin over Obama, Kerry and McCain any day.
And, yes, Russia and the USA should be strong allies. Obama is a divider and a liar. Putin sees that and understands Obama very well.

Well, I heard him say different things.
I was for Santorum originally, but the rest of you rejected him, leaving me nobody except Romney to support. I still maintain that he is a decent man, unlike the candidate you gave us by default — Obama.
To: SoConPubbie; afraidfortherepublic
Well done, SoConP! Afraidfortherepublic, Romney is also ON TAPE stating clearly and unequivocally that he believes if a minor girl gets pregnant and her parents refuse to give their consent to an abortion, that young girl should have "the right" to have a judge override her parents' refusal of consent.
Carl Rove had it wrong when he said "Demography is destiny." No, demography is pretence. MORALITY IS DESTINY. American conservatives are still moral enough to have rejected such an amoral person as Romney, even at the cost of seeing Obama re-elected. Morality is why Romney lost. I love God more than I "hate" Obama. My love for God prevented me from voting for Romney and my understanding of math helped me understand that voting "against" Obama in voting for Romney was a wholesale illusion.

Then you are willfully blind!
A good man does not abandon boys to predatory perverts.
A good man does not support the murdering of unborn babies.
A good man does not signal defeat on the moral front.

unlike the candidate you gave us by default Obama Really we gave you Obama? Seriously?
The only reason Romney lost - besides massive vote fraud - is because he could not attract enough votes. That is his responsibility and nobody else's. It is not my or Finny's job or duty to support your candidate. We and others like us are certainly not to blame when a weak candidate cannot close the deal.

Well, I heard him say different things.
You heard what you wanted to hear, and based on this thread, you still are practicing that selfsame practice.

Well then I expect you two to throw your hats into the ring for President and VP next cycle. Be sure to let us at FR know your real names so we can send donations.

I saw a “I’m Ready for Hillary” bumper sticker yesterday. Talk about not the candidate we need.

I heard him say the same "different things" and I wanted to believe as much as you did. The difference is that I actually took the time to
check the veracity of what he said against his record of actual actions. Indeed, in 2006-7, I was inclined to think highly of Romney because of what he "said" and because of what fellow Republicans I respected (at the time) said about what Romney said.
Then I did my due diligence and removed the wool from over my eyes.
Why didn't you???

Yes. Everyone who stayed home and did not vote Republican gave us Obama for a 2nd term. We already knew what we had in Obama (liar, cheat, communist), and those who sat on the sidelines and carped gave us a 2nd term of it.
Now look where we are — sunk in debt and unemployment by obamacare, about to launch WWIII in Syria, etc., etc., etc.
To: SoConPubbie; afraidfortherepublic
Amen!!!! A good man does not ENCOURAGE the mingling of openly homosexual men with school children. ROMNEY DID. Afraidfortherepublic, you can look it up.

No. The people who voted for Obama helped give us Obama. Only Romney is responsible for the election results. He gets all the blame.

And whom did you vote for?
The devil we already knew?
Or, did you sit home?
How about believing what our candidate said and using your influence to keep him on the straight and narrow?
You had a choice. Which did you make?
To: afraidfortherepublic
Well then I expect you two to throw your hats into the ring for President and VP next cycle. Why do you have such a stupid expectation? Because you are angry that we're correct and are calling you out on your own laziness to do your own due diligence?

I voted to weaken whichever bastard won -- I voted third party to reduce the winner's popular mandate.
You, on the other hand, voted to strengthen government tyranny.
It is that simple, dude.
