Unless he’s serious, vote no

This year alone, Israel has four times conducted airstrikes in Syria. No Syrian response. How did Israel get away with it? Israel had announced that it would not tolerate Assad acquiring or transferring to Hezbollah advanced weaponry. No grandiloquent speeches by the Israeli foreign minister. No leaked target lists. Indeed, the Israelis didn’t acknowledge the strikes even after they had carried them out. Unlike the American president, they have no interest in basking in perceived toughness. They care only about effect. They care about just one audience — the party to be deterred, namely Assad and his allies.

Assad knows who did it. He didn’t have to see the Israeli prime minister preening about it on world television.

This really says it all. You can't take the community organizer out of him. It's like a stench that won't go away.

This time, Chris Matthews nailed it-it’s all about “saving Obama’s hide.” Is it worth American assets and American blood to help Obama save face? Only to Chris Matthews.

What about your representative in the House? Contact him/her yet? The Senate is probably lost. It’s the House vote that matters.

Unless Obama can show the country that his don’t-mock-me airstrike is, in fact, part of a serious strategic plan, Congress should vote no.

I don't care what his strategic plan is, Congress should still vote no. Bombing Syria is not in this country's best interest.

Kenny Marchant is my House Representative. He’s a rock solid conservative Tea Party guy. In fact he periodically attends the Conservative Club that I’m a member of for a Q&A. So, I’m not worried about his vote. I know where he stands. But, what about you? Who’s your rep and where does he/she stand on this?
