Cruise missiles will not be intercepted with S-300. Shooting down cruise missile is not difficult, due to low speed and low altitude terrain hugging. Out of 1000 or so fired, a ....load was shot down by Serbian army in 1999. Without radars.

Especially at night. AAA crews wear dark shades (like welders) and can see gleaming light of cruise missile's engine approaching.

Cruise missiles were intended to deliver nuclear payload, not conventional one. It's 40 years old technology and GPS spoofers went a long way since then. Syria has a lot of sparse populated areas so they can use GPS spoofers, unlike densely populated Serbia.

Depletion of cruise missile stock weakens U.S. capability to deliver tactical nuclear payload when it may be needed. Indiscriminate use is one of the ways how democrats destroy U.S. warfighting capability.
