While I opposed the International Criminal Court, the ICC is precisely the place the U.S. should be bringing action against Assad. That would be more effective than a strike, and would rally a great many countries behind us. I disagree with Byler on many things, but this one he's bang on about.

As matters now stand, many in the Middle East do not see the United States as a reliably positive example.
Indeed, there is a broadly held regional consensus that the United States only selectively supports democracy, international law and human rights. Frequently cited are a history of U.S. support for long-term dictatorships in Saudi Arabia and Egypt; providing cover for the Israeli military occupation in the West Bank; and increasing use of unmanned drones to assassinate leaders of groups like al-Qaida — strikes that often cause “collateral” civilian deaths.

There’s a slight problem with taking Assad to court and that is courts usually expect there to be some kind of evidence. Evidence, contrary to what BOzo & Co. would have you believe, isn’t “makin’ sh*t up”.
It seems like those “activists” trying to overthrow Assad don’t know when to keep their mouths shut. . .
