Another week, another jaw-dropping development in Sweden. A couple of weeks ago it was the cockamamie “hijab solidarity” campaign, in which non-Muslim women all over the country donned head coverings in tribute to a Muslim woman who claimed a man had yanked hers off. This week, the eyebrow-raising news is that Sweden is offering instant permanent residency to any and all Syrian refugees who apply. These newly minted residents, moreover, will be entitled to bring over their spouses and kids. The reasoning behind this new policy is that the situation in Syria is extremely dangerous right now and not likely to improve anytime soon.
To be sure, even before this announcement Sweden’s asylum policy was extremely openhanded. Sweden has taken in about 15,000 Syrian refugees since 2012, more than any other EU member state. About half of the Syrians who have sought asylum in Sweden so far this year have been granted permanent residency; the other half have been allowed to stay for three years, but will now be able to trade up to permanent status. All told, just under 8000 Syrians are now temporary Swedish residents and will be eligible to stay in Sweden for good.
Before this new policy was announced, the number of Syrians seeking asylum in Sweden was over 1000 a month. But now? The sky’s the limit. Think about it: Syria’s population is 22.5 million, of which about 5000 are fleeing the country every day. More than two million Syrians have fled their country since the civil war began, and there’s no sign of that number abating. As for Sweden, its population is 9.5 million, of which about 1.5 million are foreign-born and about 2.5 million have foreign backgrounds. Then Sweden deserves everything they’re going to get. I don’t want to hear any more sob stories about how crimes in Sweden have risen (especially rape) since the muslim cowboys have moved in.
Note to “refugees”: Stay home and fight, you cowards.

Self-loathing is the true state religion of Sweden. Swedes really and truly want to end Sweden and to destroy their country.
Their open border importation of Muslim men has already made Sweden the Rape Capital of Europe with the continent’s highest per capita rate of sexual assault.
Instead, Sweden will probably take in mostly jihadists.
Why only Syrians? Why not refugees from other countries also?
Reminds me of the refugees that Carter let in from Cuba. It turned out that Castro had released criminals from prison and mentally ill people from mental health facilities. The joke was on us. History repeating itself once again. This time the joke is on Sweden and they are clueless to the pain and suffering ahead because they ignore the lessons that are readily on display, not only in the past but in their own country.

Good grief! Stick a fork in Sweden. It’s over. I don’t think you could fix things when the stats look like that.
I’ve hated the `neutral’ Swedes ever since Olof Palme denounced the U.S. and sent aid & comfort to North Vietnam. Saw quite a few “Swedish K” submachine guns incountry. When Palme was assassinated in 1986 the Swedish press blamed an “American rightwinger” though the crime was never solved.
If you want lutefisk & smorgasbords, go to Minnesota but there’s quite the Muslim problem there, too. As for the Swedish Bikini Parachute Team, those gals better get fitted for burkas, tout suite.
Yeah. It’s over for Sweden. I hope the parts of Europe that aren’t too far gone yet will wake up in time, but I doubt they will.

Yeah, I’ve read down-thread about how stupid the Swedes are, and probably rightly so.
But think about the millions of Syrians that take their families to neighboring countries to get away from the war madness. They mostly want to live in peace, while the Syrian troops battle with the Syrian rebels, and other ner-do-wells.
At a price of lighting off a missile, at $1.5 mil each, how about trying to care for the refugees?
Let the gov’t troops battle the rebels, and whoever wins, wins.
Meanwhile the displaced Syrians will be fed, clothed, tented, and latrined. Once the battles end, these peaceful Syrians will be in a position to choose their destiny, back to Syria to rebuild, adopt their new country, or move on to better pastures. Hopefully the US will be thanked for generations.
Why fund two civil war adversaries to destroy all life and infrastructure, when we have an opportunity to win over the hearts of the peaceful population??
