Excellent summation, it’s an important distinction most Americans (and I daresay most conservatives) don’t understand. And it’s becoming our undoing as a nation.
The French Revolution (and for that matter the Russian Revolution also) were revolutions against a ruling class within the country. On the other hand, the American Revolution was an anti-colonial revolution which left class structures in place.
