Lake Mary Police are now questioning the validity of several statements Shellie Zimmerman made when she told 911 dispatchers her estranged husband, George Zimmerman, threatened her and her father at gunpoint Monday afternoon.

I think the reports from yesterday indicated he did have his gun with him (and he’d be a fool not to have it with him at all times). Her problem/lying arises because she also made claims about his beating up her father, wanting EMS, etc. but there were no injuries (at least according to the reports put out yesterday).
The bigger problem here is how being dragged unnecessarily through what the Zimmermans suffered did long term psychological/ emotional damage to both of them. Not too many couples emerge intact from that kind of stressful trauma, much less young couples. Just think about what they had hanging over their heads and for how long, the threats that will never end, the cost, loss of privacy, loss of reputation, etc., etc., etc.

Didn’t Shellie just plea bargain out on lying to the judge about their finances? Sounds like she has a leetle problem with the truth.
And feminist types are outraged at the small but growing movement, of American men seeking wives from overseas.
Slightly off topic, but, some American men prefer a woman who was raised in a different culture, who has a different idea of how a woman and a man interact together. This concept causes anger among feminist types, who can’t believe that men would seek females from other cultures rather than modern American women.

His lawyer said he had his gun ON him, actually, but his wife knew that he was a legal, licensed carry, and as Zimmerman himself has made clear, for increasing security concerns.
Shelley simply used that fact against him, with sidebar statements full if innuendo, while on the 911 call.
Anyone can still do that, now. Zimmerman's life is essentially public record during this period. He would only be entitled to compensation if he participated as a "consultant", and I think his lawyer would advise him against it. All it would take is one slip of the tongue for the "Just Us" department to open a civil rights case against him based on "new evidence".
You might have a point about his pending lawsuits against NBC and possibly ABC. I don't know if they could go forward if he were to die. The executor of his estate may be able to pursue it to completion. It would depend on Florida law.
I am quite honestly surprised these tactics have started this soon since the announcement of the divorce. These tactics are part and parcel in divorce anymore. I had the cops called on me by my x-wife several times to the point that she ended up getting arrested for harassing me via law enforcement. You can sign up for websites / forums for women going through divorce and they will school you on exactly how to take a husband to a support conference and then getting a restraining order against him (no joke, one thread's name was "So, now you have his money, what next?" and it went on about how to file a false domestic charge against the guy). I had to put up a 24x7 home surveillance system it got so bad for my kids and I. Her family was stalking us, she was stealing anything not nailed down outside the home and claiming I was selling it...It sucked and was all an attempt to get me to "snap" so I would get arrested and lose custody of my kids and by extension kicked out of my own home.
