The TV spot is already being made:

“I haven’t pursued it as a senator because I know it’s like spitting in the wind,” she said. “But I still believe it’s the right thing. And if I were governor and a bill came to my desk that provided for background checks at gun shows, I would sign that.”

Guns won’t be an issue because anyone who opposes the Bill Of Rights in Texas can’t get elected.

The only people that support Abortion Barbie are New York and Los Angeles liberals. Inside Texas, other than a couple liberal strongholds like Austin, she has little draw. She doesn't even get any traction with independents and moderate Latino voters, which a Democrat MUST win to have a chance in heavily Republican Texas. She will be lucky to get 30% in a general election, but if out of state liberals won't to waste millions on her campaign, more power to them....

Wendy Davis is all for guns, provided they are used to perform abortions, with just a bit of collateral damage.

I really hope that Wendy Davis runs for governor. Bozo the Clown could run against her, and Bozo would win in a landslide.

The chattering classes can fawn all over her, and it won't make a bit of difference. But, maybe -- just maybe -- if she goes down in flames they will finally get a clue.

So the brave, intrepid soul who hasn’t pursued it as a state legislator because it’s like spitting in the wind, plans to leave it to the will of the legislature if she becomes governor. Now that’s commitment!

OTOH, she does seem to have a better grasp of the duties of the executive branch than your average liberal.

Governor Perry may be able to make Texas attractive to some manufacturing companies from other states....but part of the new-comers contract from office to home should read...When Living in Texas, I/we will adopt the Ways of Texas. We Promise To Leave Our Anti-war, and Anti-Gun laws back where we came from.......or words to that affect. Perry overlooked this piece of human nature...Texans will have to be very vigilant of their churches, school boards, and new-to-Texas politicians.

I have seen a Wendy Davis bumper sticker. It reads “We Want Wendy!” and is being peddled by Battleground Texas. Nuke her (politcally speaking) and bleed Battleground Texas dry.

If Davis makes guns an issue she will loss by a landslide, it would be nice to have a Texas governor in favor of open carry.

Typical female politician “think.”

SAFETY! CHILDREN! SCHOOLS! SAFETY! CHILDREN! SCHOOLS! and on and on and on........

And......who do they expect to provide this SAFETY? The nanny, politically correct, Socialists of course. And??? Who is their main body of support? Women of course who are more concerned with the safety of children than their own safety and freedoms.

Greg Abbott could have a slam dunk here, if he came out and loudly endorsed legal open carry. He already has, but it should be a banner headline on his campaign.

http://mattsdowling.com/attorney-general-greg-abbott-talks-guns/

“I saved the last question of the interview to ask (Attorney) General Abbott if he supported open carry. I wanted to get a clear answer, so I just asked for a “Yes” or “No” answer and he responded with a “Yes.” He later added that he felt an open carry law would have similar success as the Concealed Handgun License Laws have had in Texas.”

While this is good, he should run with it with confidence, as it has zero potential to cost him any votes by those that oppose him, and could make his supporters even more enthusiastic about supporting him.

As an aside, back in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, when there was the second big wave of gun control in the US, as well as arguments about self defense in the home with guns, a new District Attorney had been elected in Phoenix, and the reporters wanted to know his opinions on the subject.

So at his first press conference they asked him: “What should people do if someone breaks into their home?”

His reply was golden. “You shoot the S.O.B.!” And he did not abbreviate that expression. Total clarity by everyone.

And that has remained the policy in Phoenix ever since, now just taken for granted in *legal* settings. Prosecutors, defense councils, and courts all understand that rule and follow it, as if it is written in concrete.

No equivocation. No parsing. No interpretation needed. No confusion. Exactly what gun law should be.

And the same should apply to Texas open carry.

The second amendment is always front and center in any election held in the state of Texas....it is there just daring any liberal to bring it up. As far as Miss Davis supporting CWP students being able to bring their guns to school, Miss Davis is like any liberal on the issue. She will fain support until elected at which time she will start implementing the liberal incremental strategy.First limiting carrying to the glove box of your car then to the trunk then only if the ammo is stored separate from the weapon then only on rainy days etc. etc. etc.!!! There will not be a governor Davis for quite a while in Texas.
