My Dad bought a Belgium Browning 12 gauge Semi automatic modified long barrel shot gun, with the gold trigger back in the 1950’s. He used it for bird hunting mostly. It was too heavy for much else, at least that was my opinion. My younger brother owns it now. However, it would sometimes fire off TWO or THREE shells when you only pulled the trigger once. My father sent it back to have it repaired at a factory authorized gunsmith. He said it only did it sometimes. It would scare the heck out of him.

So in a way it was a automatic shotgun.

Ahh... The good old Browning Auto-12. My late father had, not one, but two of these (one for Mom, but she never used it even once, that I can remember...)

While I agree that it is possible, at least in theory, that the weapon could 'chain fire', in all of the times that I either fired, or saw them being fired, I never saw more than one shot be fired per trigger squeeze...

That group was only paying attention to this story for maybe, maybe the first 24 hours it was reported. It is that initial period where the left wingers live. It is those moments when the whole story is not known that the left wing gets to “fill in the blanks” by blaming Tea Parties and claiming that AR-15’s bought at gun shows were used and throwing out there whatever other facts suit their agendas. By the time the real facts are known, the low infor crowd and the MSM has moved on to the next thing.

It was a slam fire. Highly dangerous, not only to the shooter but if brought to a range and LE is present you get hooked up for having a unregistered Class III weapon.

I lived in England (United Kingdom) for a total of about 10 years between 1980 and 1999, and I know exactly what I would say to him, even in British Midlands vernacular. I won't be surprised if this gets pulled because it's vulgar and profane... but I'd say -

"Fuck off you bloody wanker!"

Granted, somebody down around Portsmouth, London, or Ipswich might word it slightly differently, but that's what we'd say in the Midlands... between Oxford and Birmingham. Wherever Piers is from in England, I'm sure he'd understand. :-)

So, the libs will ignore the existent AR-15, and instead focus on the fact that the gunmen appears to have taken two weapons off of people he shot. I’ve already seen (on Facebook and elsewhere) numerous variations of “See? Armed civilians can’t stop massacres like this!”

And we’ll reply that this is why concealed carry has been so effective that crime has drastically dropped as it because the national norm. Unlike the security guard with a duty gun on his belt, a concealed carrier can’t be identified in advance as a source of a gun if shot.
