A journalism professor at the University of Kansas (KU) turned to Twitter on Monday to suggest he would like to see the murder of children of National Rifle Association (NRA) members at the hands of a deranged gunman.
“#NavyYardShooting The blood is on the hands of the #NRA,” tweeted David Guth, who is an associate professor of Journalism at the university’s William Allen White School of Journalism.
Speaking with Campus Reform on Wednesday, Guth confirmed it was he who sent the controversial tweet.
“Hell no, hell no, I do not regret that Tweet,” he said. “I don't take it back one bit.”
Guth also doubled down on the statement when other Twitter users pressed him, suggesting it was was shameful to call for the death of children.
“God’s justice takes many forms,” he tweeted in response.

The way I read that was he was threating any NRA members children he might come into contact with. I think Campus police should be informed about this Nut case!

This is where we have our greatest effect, right here!!! On the local level,,person to person. This is where we can make the changes...don’t allow this rhetoric to go on at this level and we won’t have to deal with it on a national level!
I am looking up radio stations in Lawrence right now..whoever isn’t actively engaging to expose this professor is aligning with him.

This pretty much typifies the state of “journalism” in Kansas. Most KS newspsper editors would privately agree with this loon, although not in front of their readers (yet).
Yeah, yeah. Another coffeehouse revolutionary calling for other people’s blood, in this case that of children. Guess what, Sweet Pea? We shoot back.
He is an associate professor. My guess is he is up for tenure. His seniors vote for or against that. Unlike physical scientists (I am one) who have to go through a rather rigorous procedure with research done and papers published in journals accepted by the international community, with a lot of these social scientists (a stretch for journalism), the bosses often look for a “splash” in the news (it’s like counting a NYT article as a “contribution”)
If he comes by here to carry out his wish, I will step in for God this one time.
