Thirteen people, including a 3-year-old boy who suffered a gunshot wound to the head, were shot at a Chicago park in the Back of the Yards neighborhood Thursday night, authorities said.
Ten adults and the 3-year-old were transported by Fire Department ambulances after the attack in the 1800 block of West 51st Street in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, said Fire Department Deputy District Chief James Mungovan at the scene. A 12th victim was believed to have driven himself to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, a source said, citing preliminary information.
Police said later a total of 13 people were shot, the boy, two teens, and 10 adults, with the boy the most seriously wounded. The boy suffered a gunshot wound to the head at an ear that exited through his mouth, and was in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

Chicago police were making no information about what happened public, except to say that the shooting appeared to be gang-related. The shootings took place on a basketball court on the 51st Street side of Cornell Square Park near Wood Street.

The role of the media as gatekeepers is something I learned decades ago in a college class. It was then that I realized how much power the media had in determining what people thought about things. But it was only when twenty years ago that I rejected the Dem Party I had been a member of for a long time did I fully realize how bad Americans are brainwashed by the lib media. I did some tree investigation during an ancestry.com free period. I met my grandfather’s sister and four brothers when I was a kid. The 1880 census revealed that he was one of 11 children. I had never heard of the five that died in infancy.

Look people, if Chicago didn’t have all these shootings the police force would have to be trimmed. Who would eat all those doughnuts and drink that coffee, who would collect the protection money from the small businesses, who would collect the taxes from the drug cartels, who would offer protection to cathouses and the underage sex trade, etc.? Damn it people, quit thinking of yourselves and a few expendable minorities .... heck, that’s less than they abort in a day.
I, too do a lot of genealogy research. I’m certain young people of that time did tend to be more mature. But their lives were not as complex as ours are today. Yes, many married and did not stay in the parental home. On the other hand, they often stayed in the parental home until marriage, those that did not marry often stayed indefinitely, as well as widows/widowers and their children moving back in with the grandparents.

Now of course the Definition of a Chicago Park is different these days. A park is an area of open space provided for the gathering of rival gangs and various criminal use. It can be in its natural or semi-natural state, or planted, and is set aside for gang battle or for the destruction of wildlife or natural habitats. It may consist of rocks, soil, water, flora and fauna and grass areas, which act as natural cover for gun fights, but may also contain buildings for drug use and prostitution. Other artifacts such as play grounds where children are randomly shot or indoctrinated into the Gang and drug culture. Many natural parks are or were protected by law. This, however, is not the case in Chicago Parks.
