So the question in my mind is, IF a government shutdown happens, what would the effects be?

Most essential services will remain funded and functional, but which appendages would be affected first? Second? And as it continues, what other effects might we see?

I ask because my fellow Freepers follow this and keep me updated.

They will close parks and a bunch of other stuff that are very noticeable to the public just because they want the public to notice it.

There is enough revenue collected monthly to pay the debt interest payments, the ssip payments and normal military operations. No “essential” services would be effected in the near or medium term.

However, if we keep killing the productive private sector with such a burdensome federal monster, this could change very well in the longer term, whether there is a budget, CR or nothing!
