Half that voted, not half the of the total population. Big difference.
That’s why I said “voters”. Originally I put 1/2 of everybody, but then I thought about it, somewhat hopefully. It may have been 1/2 of the electorate, but less than that for the population at large. Who knows? It could be worse.
