New York Post ^

The Manhattan DA’s office won’t press charges against one of the motorcycle thugs who allegedly terrorized and beat a man after a wild chase on the West Side Highway, and is reluctant to prosecute another, sources said Wednesday. Allen Edwards, 43, of Queens, who allegedly smashed Alexian Lien’s rear driver’s side window with his fist, surrendered to cops Tuesday morning but will not be charged, the sources said.

“The event started when the SUV guy tail-gated and then rammed a first biker,” Wrong.

“The remaining bikers surrounded the SUV and forced it to the curb.” Not their job.

“At least one of the bikes was parked in front of the SUV with its rider off starting to talk to the driver.”
More like screaming at the driver.

“The remaining bikers chased him down and forced him to stop in town traffic.” Not their job again.

“The windo-breaking didn’t start until the driver refused to get out and talk.” He didn’t have to get out and talk
to anyone but the cops.

“The second biker who got hurt is in really tough shape, having gotten completely run over.” Good.

“It’s worth noting that these bikes weren’t HOGS, just street bikes more or less medium sized, with none of the riders dressed in leathers, etc. They were not a tattooed-up bunch of hells angels types and shouldn’t have struck fear in the heart of a dumbass SUV pilot” Doesn’t matter and your just typing.

“Note also that the SUV was in the center of three lanes when he rammed the first bike.” Where else could he go he
was surrounded by bikers.

“If he was in a hurry all he had to do was shift to the left lane.” Why should he, he had every right to drive right over the punks.

“I nominate the SUV genius as dumbass of the year.”
I don’t think he would want to join your club.

Guess you didn’t see the clip where he drove over a biker - which precipitated the other bikers chasing him down.

<><><><

Guess you didnt see the clip where the asshole biker slowed down right in front on the SUV driver, causing the biker to get clipped and get his leg broken, which happened before the running over of the other idiot biker.

The entire biker gang should be rounded up and hanged. Each one, as a willing participant of the gang activity, is guilty of every crime, up to and including attempted murder of the driver and his family, that was committed by each and every member of the gang.

I second your statements.

These thugs are evil criminals. I viewed the various liveleak videos. It gives total support to your statement.

They all deserve a public hanging in front of their families -- true justice for these cretins.

You mean when they were trying to illegally stop traffic and menace the SUV driver?

They got off lucky....I would have taken a bunch of em out...

I ride....but these ghetto thugs just go out and sow mahem doing wheelies and acting like assholes....the cops had already stopped them from going downtown previous to the SUV incident.

The media at every level has gotten this story so sideways and half assed that most of the comments here aren't related to anything.

No you have it wrong.

You totally forgot about the part of the bikers kicking his vehicle and slashing his tires when he first stopped after the biker cut him off and slammed on his brakes and got bumped. That is clearly on the vids. At that point in this incident it was a minor traffic incident and no one was injured. The bikers chose to expand it into a violent confrontation.

You completely ignored that fact that they had no legal right to pursue him riding in the oncoming lanes of traffic, on the sidewalks, on unlicensed bikes and quads, and then surround him and stop him. This is also on the vids. Then you continue to stray from the truth in implying that somehow this moron had a right to shatter his side window, endangering his wife and small child, then rip him out of his vehicle and beat him. When that happened the SUV driver was caught in traffic and could not escape but the biker took it upon himself to be judge, jury, cop, and the giver of punishment. Wrong, totally, completely, absolutely, and not lawful.

If It had been me, at least the guy swinging the helmet guy would have suffered a double tap to the center of mass when he attacked me with his helmet. When you watch the vid there can be no doubt that the biker was using it as a weapon with the intent to cause bodily harm.

In the free parts of America an armed response would have been easily justifiable. Unfortunately, this businessman and his family live in NY.

At least (so far) the DA considers his use of a SUV as a weapon was justified.

But some of the plates turned out to be stolen or belong to different bikes, making it tougher to ID the motorcyclists.

Sounds like honest, hard working citizens out riding their bikes and things got just a bit out of hand in the confusion.

According as to who you happen to be and whose vehicle and occupants you attack. The good part for you is that if you happen to be one of the approved vehicle attackers, Should said vehicle's occupants have the gall to defend themselves, the full force of the law will descend upon them.

It is my opinion, that both sides know who they are and if one side values their life and health, they will stay the hell out of NYC.

One has to ask where the cops were.

This is anarchy in the streets.

As we learned with the Trayvon Martin case, defending yourself is not a politically correct action these days. And there is a large faction of both civilians and elected officials who are working tirelessly to strip us of our rights to do so.

Dennis,

Pause for a moment. You don’t find it odd that a biker, who appeared to be looking into the window of the SUV just prior, deliberately pulls in front of it to stop it?

Then 50 bikers stop and park, surrounding the SUV after it it forced to stop? What 3 lane highway allows parking in a lane? Did you notice the white van that had to drive onto the curb to get around the bikers?

If somebody opened my back door I’d think kidnapping or worse. The driver, Asian or not, did what made the most sense at that very moment. It’s terrible that someone is now in an induced coma, but why did he stop and park in front of the SUV in the first place?

Mal intent from the start.

“The dipshit biker who slowed down intentionally in front of the the SUV driver, got hit as a result of his stupid ass move and got his leg broken in the process set this off.”

His name is Christopher Cruz and he did not get his leg broken. From the internet——

On Tuesday, police arrested the biker they say who was involved in the initial accident. Christopher Cruz, of Passaic, N.J., was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, endangering the welfare of a child and menacing. Cruz, who was uninjured, was in custody awaiting arraignment Tuesday and hadn’t been assigned a lawyer.

The other half had stolen or misappropriated tags.
This same tactic has been used by the mob when they carried out a "hit".
