McCaskill Objects to Other Congressmen Showing Up at WWII Memorial

Senator Claire McCaskill (D., Mo.) said this morning that legislators present at the World War II memorial who didn’t have veterans from their states present were merely playing politics.

“There’s people here who have nothing to do,” McCaskill said this morning at the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C. ”They’re just trying to score a political point.”

When asked by CNS News if they were attempting to grandstand, McCaskill answered that “it appears that they are,” but did not single out any legislators by name.

Earlier this morning, World War II veterans entered the memorial for the second time in as many days despite barricades and signs declaring the site closed. The veterans were flown to Washington, D.C. by Honor Flight, an organization that works to bring veterans to their memorials. Today’s veterans included groups from Illinois, Michigan, and Missouri. McCaskill said she comes to the memorial regularly to meet veterans on Honor Flights from her state.

Lawmakers turned out both days at the memorial. Representative Steve King (R., Iowa) distracted a Park Police official yesterday so that veterans could enter and Representative Michele Bachmann (R., Minn.) was present yesterday and today. Senators Mark Kirk, (R., Ill.) and Roy Blunt (R., Mo.) were at the memorial this morning, as were Representatives Louie Gohmert (R., Texas) and Ann Wagner (R., Mo.).

“The only political points that were tried to be scored was when this administration intentionally tried to inflict pain on veterans that served this country,” Gohmert said when told of McCaskill’s remark. When asked why McCaskill would make that accusation, Gohmert responded, “Well, in Texas we used to say that the guilty dog usually barks first.”

I’d say “guilty dog” is a pretty fair description of McCaskill. LOL!

The blow-back on THAT strategy could have repercussions FAR beyond their worst nightmare. Just how stupid is it to PISS OFF a few million folks trained to kill?

They may not have been representing their states, but they were representing Ameicans!

I still cannot believe she won in Mizzou. Must have been St. Louis and Kansas City that put her in.

Mr. RR and I are both Mizzou grads. Still have lots of family there......and they can’t stand her.

Every time the bitch gets elected she tries to forget the state that elected her. Her memory only comes back for a couple of weeks before the election and she denies ever having been in DC.
It doesn’t say much for Missouri even if she ran against an idiot who’s campaign she financed.

Claire McCaskill @clairecmc 1 Oct

To be clear, my office is doing its best to function even though most of my staff furloughed. Half a dozen folks working very hard.

Like our guy in Indiana, the Missouri guy wasn’t ready for a full on assault by the MSM.

Some house campaigns can stay below the MSM radar, but Senate seats being statewide get the full treatment.

These guys and gals HAVE to get some kind of boot camp training to prep them for debates and MSM attacks.

McCaskill, this may come as quite a shock to you but some legislators are veterans, children of veterans, friends of veterans or just like veterans. While I understand this list includes no one you know, please believe, they do exist.
