Also seems to me like a whole lot of Federal employees owe the government for unpaid taxes. Anyone who does owe should have their back wages sent to the IRS to pay off that bill first. Then if there is any money left over it could go to the employees.

I'm sure the catch-up check will be handled like any other payroll check and taxes withheld.

I’m sure it will. I’m also sure that we will never see any of the $3.5 Billion that government employees owe for back taxes just from 2011 alone.

I received a bill earlier this year for underpayment of my taxes by $10.00 plus interest and penalty which totalled $14.10. Sent them the $10.00. Got back a notice of intent to levy for the remaining $4.10. But then I’m not a government employee.
