Obama open to name change for Washington Redskins

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says that if he owned the Washington Redskins, he would "think about changing" the team name, wading into the controversy over a football nickname that many people deem offensive to Native Americans.
Obama, in an interview with The Associated Press, said team names like the Redskins offend "a sizable group of people." He said that while fans get attached to the nicknames, nostalgia may not be a good enough reason to keep them in place.
"I don't know whether our attachment to a particular name should override the real legitimate concerns that people have about these things," he said in the interview, which was conducted Friday.

Good point, never in my life would I have expected someone so named to be president...it is an affront to every citizen no matter their name.
I’m open to a change in who sits in the Oval Office.
There is not a substantial number of people who demands the change. If you ever have been to a pow wow or gathering you will see many natives wearing redskins jackets chief jackets braves you name it. This is just a few malcontents.
They could always call them the Washington Redlines ... but then they would get constantly stepped over, rubbed out & moved around.

If I owned the team, for spite I would rename them the Washington Elitist Liberal Hacks.
I would change all the sections of the stadium to different failed liberal policies. Private boxes would have names like Wilson, Fulbright, maybe add some Soviet names in there for contrast.
Food would all be no salt vegan fare. There would be no whistling allowed. Ticket sales would be lowest to highest prices based on minority status. Blacks would pay 2 bucks.a ticket, women 3, Hispanic 4 and so on. All game tickets for white Christian males would start at 500 dollars. If you do own a box, a certain percentage of your box for each game has to have minorities, which goes up if the Elitist Liberal Hacks make the playoffs.
Every player gets paid the same and must have Obamacare. The team no longer has to provide insurance since they only carry 45 players. Sucks being in the players union.
When is he going to tell New England to change their mascot because it’s offensive to Democrats?
