LAKEWOOD, Wash. - A 20-year-old active-duty soldier was stabbed to death in a parking lot at the 12500 block of Pacific Highway Southwest around 2:30 a.m., officials say.
Three soldiers were walking from Joint Base Lewis-McChord along Pacific Highway SW when a group of men in a car drove by and someone inside shouted a racial comment toward the white soldiers, the Lakewood Police Department said.
"One of the soldiers yelled back something about the suspects treating combat soldiers with disrespect," Lt. Chris Lawler said.
The vehicle turned around, and five black males got out of the car and confronted the soldiers, according to reports. As the verbal confrontation ensued, the driver of the vehicle realized the men were actually combat veterans and called his friends off. While the men headed back to their vehicle, one of the suspects appeared to have bumped into the victim, witnesses say.
The soldiers saw their friend fall to the ground as the car sped away. The victim was bleeding profusely from a stab wound and died at the scene.

I disagree: The argument seems to have escalated verbally for a while. The Marines were obviously outnumbered and in danger. If they had been carrying, the man with the knife should never have been allowed to get anywhere close, and probably would not even have tried.

When the five blacks got out of the car it would have been reasonable for the solders to pull out weapons. They needed to keep them away.
A black thug here did the same walk away then attack on a bar bouncer a while back. Knocked him out, his, head hit the pavement and he is paralyzed for life.

Troops in my mind is a generic term and can be applied to all members of our armed forces. But soldier can only be applied to members of the US Army. It is only out of respect for US Army soldiers that I object to the term soldier being used in a generic fashion. But you are correct, we have bigger worries. I meant no disrespect, quite the opposite in fact.

lol on that revision. i’ve noticed a lot of that going on lately. i check on the globalincident quake map and a quake in the western pacific on the aussie feed is usually higher than usgs.
