Yep, degrees in Forestry and have never been to a Forest until they go on class trips. I imagine a degree in Environmental Studies or things like that would open that door too.
A lot of Veterans, ranch and farm kids used to work those jobs. My brother-in-law was a Park Ranger at the Grand Canyon in the 60s, he was a cowboy before he got that job. Totally different type of people.
