Obama turns down GOP proposal (Demands Boehner/Cantor/Ryan also surrender on tax increases...)
Politico ^ | 10/11/13 | BURGESS EVERETT, JAKE SHERMAN and JOHN BRESNAHAN

Posted on 10/11/2013 1:51:29 PM PDT by jimbo123

President Barack Obama spoke with House Speaker John Boehner on Friday but did not wholly accept the House Republican plan to open government, raise the debt ceiling and open budget talks, sources said.

-snip-

Senior Republican sources say Obama is amenable to changes to mandatory and discretionary spending, but needs Republicans to commit to increasing governmental revenue.

All because the idiot GOP moderates cannot get their act together and are not good spokespeople.

Btw Ryan was a lousy VP candidate. Politicians are bums.

As a retired realtor...

Towards the end of the housing bubble, I think people really were doing that.

Why should Obama concede anything to these pathetic weaklings? The Republican “leaders” may bark, but there’s no bite. He knows the party is deeply divided and incapable of dealing with him. He’s kicking them around like a rented mule.

Read the article- if you wish. I’m showing you a source that is less a Democrat party organ than POLITICO- though still estanblishment/liberal leaning.

I chose that part to quote as the most important, not the most germane to your post.
The most likely way we fail is the Republican Senators joining Harry to send a CR/debt limit bill to the House. It would be unstoppable and disastrous. Of course that is not the only danger but it is the most likely.

Obama is proven a liar.
His “I will not negotiate” statements are lies.
The opposition must keep pushing, he’s a pussy and will cave.

They just don’t have it in them to fight. They have no concept of winning. They are losers.

You are right. Taxes are too low. The 0bamacare penalties that tens of millions of Americans will be paying are not enough. We should all bay more. It is for the children. Excuse me while I go puke.

I have never been for a third party, but the RINOs have totally ruined us. We have to dump the GOP and start over. I can never vote for any of these wimps again!

These clowns painted themselves into a corner because they kept making proposals without demanding that Obama/Reid make the next move.

The first move should have been to pass the individual appropriation bills, then demand that Obama and Reid counter. Until they countered with a concrete proposal, just do nothing.

Instead, you have RINOs tripping over themselves to offer up the next compromise without getting any concessions from Obama/Reid. They are negotiating against themselves.

Republicans should be letting the debt ceiling come. The Republicans would have all the leverage on the debt ceiling. If the debt ceiling is reached, it is instant balanced budget time. Obama would be the one wanting a deal, not the Republicans. Obama and his base live off the government trough, and once that spicket is turned off, Obama will be the desparate party.

This damn little dictator King Obama is a real sick childlike fool. And his dictatorship will destroy America. The GOP is useless. When the first Senator or Representative goes on TV and call King Obama a sick mentally ill and impeachment should start soon I'll return to the GOP. Never happen.

He won’t be speaker after 2014. I think he and his “leadership” dorks have ticked off the conservatives to the point I believe many will just give up again and stay home.

Take care of things locally as much as possible. Many of the Tea Party folks got involved only recently and will go back to thinking “what difference does it make? We vote them in and they stab us in the back.”

The Dems don’t want to see the GOP go belly up. They’ve invested too much time and effort into learning how to manipulate them to lose all that now. They are useful idots and easy “adversaries” to manage.

I’ve often had that very thought, especially in regard to “The Theory and Practice of Oligarchial Collectivism”; Orwell’s brilliant critique of Soviet Communism.

As a retired realtor... you may see in this NBC tweet the same bad news I do:
“Luke RussertVerified account;@LukeRussert
#GOP aide tells me concern is mounting between differing positions on way forward on debt limit b/t Reid and WH.”

Or is it just car salesmen that do the “let me talk to the manager” gag...

Scariest news I’ve seen yet.

Based on the title of the article, it seems like Obama met with Republicans just to be able to claim that he met with Republicans but having no intension to compromise with Republicans.

To paraphrase and old joke, what Obama did today was to publically establish the fact that Boehner is a whore... the only thing left to do now is negotiate the price.
