Senate Republicans emerged from a lengthy meeting at the White House Thursday saying the president had indicated he was at least willing to talk about changes to his signature healthcare reform law.

-snip-

Among areas the president indicated a willingness to talk about are a repeal of the medical device tax, a proposal with bipartisan support, and how full-time versus part-time employment are defined in the law, which could provide relief to some businesses.

-snip-

A plan from Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) to raise the debt limit and reopen the government would roll back the medical device tax. Collins’s plan would offset the lost revenue with a pension smoothing provision.

A socialist tactic. Dump a ton of rubbish on the public and then make everyone feel better about it by taking 2 pounds of it back.

Glad to see businesses that make medical devices are potentially being negotiated for relief.

As for you individuals affected by the individual mandate....sorry you are not eligible to be given relief.

Both Parties love business and nobody is looking out for individual liberty and freedom.

He will pretend to negotiate, not accept anything proposed, and then the media spin will be that he negotiated in good faith but the evil Tea Party anarchists who are holding the nation hostage would not be reasonable and accept “common sense” solutions to the problem.

The fact that he is saying that he is willing to negotiate, even though it’s just for show, demonstrates that he is feeling the pain of the poll numbers.

When we accept tidbits from Obama’s table, such as repealing the med device tax, we strengthen Obamacare and participate in our destruction.

If allowed to continue, the GOP will be reduced to nibbling at the edges of Obamacare and demand we vote for them on that basis.

The Indian outsourcing companies that created the exchanges are donors to the GOP as well as to Karl Rove. They won’t be investigated or defunded by the GOP despite the debacle of the non-working exchanges.

And of course the individual mandate will stand so the Indian outsourcers will get more money to “fix” the problems with the exchanges and put more money in the pockets of the GOP and Karl Rove.

Only the GOP can save Obama from Obamacare now. It is a living breathing Democrat killer.

“Fixing it” is just one more way of owning it—and assuring it isn’t repealed.

This is what Marxists do.

They propose or pass something outlandish, knowing that the public would be opposed to it initially.

They they offer to "compromise," meaning throwing the opposition a few crumbs while keeping the heart of the socialist policy in place...

In the end, getting what they want, and down the road passing more crap and moving the goalposts their way.
